Nature
Bringing nature back into architecture is more complex than simply introducing plants. Green roofs, living walls, courtyards and other engineered landscapes begin as new biological systems that must establish themselves within conditions very different from a natural habitat. Limited rooting volume, heat, wind, irregular water availability and disrupted biological interactions can make this establishment phase particularly vulnerable.
